York Model Railway Show 2027
VERIFIED EVENT LISTING
Three days of railway modelling at York Racecourse, with 31 provisional layouts, family activities, accessible facilities and free parking.
About this event
York Model Railway Show returns for its 62nd exhibition with three days of railway modelling across the Knavesmire Stand at York Racecourse. The organiser’s provisional 2027 line-up includes 31 layouts spanning 2mm finescale, N, OO, EM, P4, H0, O and narrow-gauge formats. Trader and society details will be confirmed closer to the show.
All public floors are served by lifts. Accessible toilets are available and require a RADAR key, with one available from the ground-floor information stand. Assistance dogs are welcome. Families can use baby-changing facilities, hireable child step stools, an Easter hunt and a beginner-friendly modelling workshop.
More than 800 free parking spaces are normally available. Saturday uses a different Knavesmire parking entrance, so visitors should follow the temporary event signs rather than relying only on the venue postcode. Limited Blue Badge parking is available. York Pullman service 197 is expected to link York railway station and the racecourse during the show weekend; check the organiser’s travel page before setting out.
Saturday morning is normally the busiest period. Visitors who prefer a quieter experience may find the afternoons, Sunday after 11am, or Monday more comfortable. Last paid admission is 45 minutes before closing. Advance ticket prices are still to be confirmed by the organiser.
Provisional trader-list note: The trader list below is taken from the organiser’s current Traders page. That page is headed as the 2026 booked-trader list and states that 2027 traders will be confirmed later in 2026. Treat this as an indicative line-up until the organiser publishes its final 2027 confirmations. Slaters (Plastikard) Ltd has not been included because the source marks it as withdrawn.
